How to read the figures
Browsers and active visits.
Distinct browsers are estimated with a random identifier that changes each UK day. They are not an exact count of people: one person may use several devices, and blocked storage may produce additional identifiers.
A visit is a tab session. Navigation in the same tab keeps that visit while it remains active; 30 minutes without a focused visible tab starts a new visit when the tab becomes active again. New tabs can count as separate visits. Page views count measured page loads and the start of a new active visit.
Active time measures a visible, focused tab. Average active time divides recorded seconds by recorded visits; it is displayed as minutes:seconds. Standalone PDFs and pages with JavaScript or measurement blocked are not included.
